“Why did my ball do that?”                                     Contact Chris at 602-463-4359

Have you ever asked that question?  Usually after watching your ball curve off right, then left, then right.

The answer is actually quite simple.  You need to fix impact, the point where your clubface and golf ball meet.  Unfortunately most golfers aren’t sure what correct impact is.  Understanding what correct impact is is the first step toward fixing it.  Most people play golf by making a series of compensating moves that rarely effect impact.

I don’t teach a method; I teach you.  Your swing is your swing, much like the way you walk is unique to you, and you aren’t going to learn your swing out of a book, in a video, or by watching TV.  Learning golf, like playing golf, is a visceral experience and needs to take into account your sense of feel, your natural ability, experience, your range of motion, and correct and practical practice techniques (usually best applied at home) to help improve your impact.  Instruction needs to be hands on.

The use  of the Zelocity launch monitor means understanding ball flight that is acurately measured.  Ball flight is the starting point.  The use of state of the art video will show you what you are doing that is producing your current ball flight and allow you to literally see how your swing will look to produce your desired ball flight.  The use of impact tape will aid us in helping you understand what you need to do (and why) to improve impact and be able to control your ball flight.  (See the article about launch and spin on the home page).

Of course leaning how to hit better shots is only the start.  MySmartGolf is an online service that allows you to track detailed information about your game so you will understand what part of your game needs attention.

Your physical condition (strength, range of motion, etc.) has an effect on your swing.  I understand that golf is different things to different people and not everyone wants to make it a lifestyle.  But most of us want to improve and that usually means understanding our physical limitations and what if anything we can do to improve them.  I have developed a partnership with Brandon Penas, Doctorate of Physical Therapy, at EnduranceRehab to help you with your physical needs.  Coreprogression is a great way to improve your strength and you can follow the workouts from your home.  Better Core strength can help increase your club head speed and help you feel better.  Good golf health is synonomous with better overall health.

And of course there is the mental aspect of the game.  I have devoted a great deal of study to this issue and believe I can simplfy it for you.  I have also incorporated Mental Golf Workshops to help you  and me understand your learning style.  This is a profiling system and is a wonderful tool to help us understand how to approach the learning process.

I look forward to building a relationship with you as we attempt to find out how good you can be.
