Over the past decade, the best players in the world have improved their performance by improving their overall fitness level as it relates to the game of golf. The development and implementation of an individualized golf-specific fitness program is a very important “first-step” if a person is serious about becoming a better golfer. Incorporating sport-specific golf exercises in place of the “normal gym routine” can produce the results most golfers strive to achieve. In addition, sport-specific training can help prevent injury because the training stresses closely resemble those experienced on the course. A program emphasizing cardio-respiratory training, power, balance and flexibility, in combination with an experienced golf swing instructor will maximize any golfer’s potential.
To accurately assess a golfer’s physical limitations, the physical therapists at Endurance Rehabilitation will obtain a brief medical background to identify both acute and chronic injuries through an interview process followed by a thorough assessment to determine underlying physical impairments and limitations. Our golf assessment is a comprehensive head to toe evaluation of range of motion, strength, proprioception (balance), and posture and its relationship to the golf swing. The assessment allows us the opportunity to educate the golfer not only of their injury/impairments, but the limitations that may be the contributing to their condition. Our goal is to improve the performance of golfers of all abilities and ages by identifying and correcting faulty movement patterns and muscular imbalances as they apply to the biomechanics of the golf swing.
In collaboration with Chris Christensen’s professional experience and expertise, Endurance Rehabilitation is excited in helping Chris provide his clients with the knowledge and tools necessary to becoming a more consistent and well-rounded golfer.
